The official opening event of the Edinburgh Zine Library will take place on Wednesday 1st November, 4pm till 7:30pm. Everyone is welcome to drop by anytime and celebrate with us!
The event will be held in the Art and Design Library at Edinburgh Central Library, George IV Bridge. There will be a desk in the lobby where a member can direct you to the event.
There’ll be zine making, zine swapping, talks about zines and the zine library and the chance to browse our collection and chat to our wonderful and enthusiastic members. Oh and cake. Lots of cake! Come along and celebrate the opening of Edinburgh’s only Zine Library!
The running time for the event is:
- ZINE MAKING WORKSHOP, hosted by E.Z.L’s Unfinished Zine Club, drop in and make a zine with the support/guidance/company of zine library members, materials provided!
- 24-HR ZINE, contribute to our 24-Hr zine for the library opening
- BROWSE THE COLLECTION, find a quiet corner and settle in to read some of the library’s collection of contemporary zines
- CHAT TO E.Z.L MEMBERS, Want to get involved or find out more about the library? Our members will be on hand to talk all things zine and zine library!
7.15pm – 7.30pm:
We’ll be wrapping up with some ZINE READINGS AND TALKS including:
‘Why do zines belong in libraries?’
‘An incredibly brief but comprehensive history of the Edinburgh Zine Library’
7.30pm: Event closes
8pm: Library closes
The Art and Design Library is not wheelchair accessible and there is no level access – using the lift there is an additional twenty steps. There will be an area downstairs which is level access and where there will be a stall, seats, zines and members of E.Z.L to chat. Get in touch for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org!
